Lucky Ladies Rule Sin City
Why It's Great to be a Girl in Vegas

Girls just want to have fun – and they can have a lot of fun in Vegas..
Commentary by PubClub Columnist "The Bartender"
It's a familiar scene in Las Vegas.
A group of men are sitting by a near-empty bar in a casino lobby, holding onto foot-long plastic tubes of margaritas or some other frozen concoction, wondering where the heck they can go to find some "Vegas-style" lifestyle.
Then a group of girls come scampering by, laughing together, all excited about their evening. They are not worried about where they are going or what they will be doing for the night. They are headed to a club. Perhaps a few clubs. To go dancing. They are dressed in short and tight dresses and their hair looks as if they just emerged from a salon. Their matching heels (or sexy boots, which are becoming a prevalent fashion trend) make a clomping sound on the casino floor as they make their way to the taxi stand.
So why don't the guys simply pick themselves up off their chairs and follow the ladies to the club(s)? Well, it's not quite that easy.
Las Vegas, you see, is a girls' town.
No doubt, no question, no mistaking the fact. No complaining either, even if you're a guy.
The girls have a run of the place like Kobe Bryant against the Clippers. They are just as unstoppable, romping to the front of long lines and winding up in the VIP areas. In sports parlance, they control the tempo of the game. The only people with more clout are celebrities.
And the guys? They are the ones left holding the wallet. Often quite literally.
If girls want to go to one of Las Vegas' famous mega-clubs, they simply show up and "present" themselves to the doormen. No flirting is required, they just need to be seen. Often, they are asked to come right in, thank you. If a group of guys wants to get into a club, they had better show up early and take turns with their buddies making plenty of trips to the nearest casino bar for cocktails, because it could be a long wait. And it's going to cost $20-30 (or more) once they reach the door.
The best way for men to get VIP treatment in a popular club is to, well, be a VIP. Buy a table for the night (this is upwards of $1,400). It comes with two bottles of alcohol, all the mixers and a personal bouncer who will, upon request, go scan the club to find, you got it, girls! So the girls not only get into the club with no problem, they also wind up in the VIP area.
To be sure, not every gal who visits Vegas gets this kind of treatment. The girls generally need to be cute, sexy or otherwise dispaly a certain energy for the environment that is Vegas nightclubbing. They need to be dressed to kill, even if they may not have looks that kill.
And this girls' thing is not a bad thing for the guys, either. Clubs are loud, crowded and can be tough places in which to mingle. Having a bouncer bring company right to your table is five-star service.
Plus, there are plenty of places where guys and girls are on equal footing. The dueling piano bars are a great example. So, too, are the casino lounges; one in Mandalay Bay called eyecandy sound lounge and bar is even a mini-club with a DJ and dance floor. It also has a dancing platform for, of course, girls only (thankfully!). The restaurant side of LEVO in Plazzo turns into an enjoyable lounge at night. Bars with bands, like the Nine Fine Irishmen and Margaritaville, are lively for all comers. Some clubs are as friendly as the neighborhood pubs to everybody; ROK in New York-New York comes immediately to mind.
So what those guys sitting at the near-empty casino bar with their large plastic margarita cups should do is not envy the girls who come prancing by them, but get out and enjoy all that fun Vegas has to offer. Below are links to PubClub.com's nightlife article in Sin City:
