Sunset Strip Happy Hours
Cool Places to Have Beer, Drinks & Food

As traffic zooms by the Strip, a cold beer sits on a patio.

There is more to the Sunset Strip than bands and legendary live music venues like The Roxy and and Whiskey-A--Go-Go.

Or even celebrities and hip hangouts.

In fact, for many the best time to be cruising up and down the 1.6-mile area of Sunset Blvd., is between 4-8 p.m. And on foot, not in a car.

That's because its Happy Hour all up and down the Strip. Here's a detailed look at the best Happy Hours on the Strip, as well as cool places just to hang out and have a few beers, drinks and/or food.

Plus, patrons don't have to worry about picky doormen – actually experience them opening the door for you! – lines, VIP lists, etc. Instead, walk right in to any place along the Strip!

BLT Steak
8720 Sunset Blvd.
BLT Steak has a signature $4 Sunset Strip Cocktail and $5 menu from 5-8 p.m.

Cabo Cantina
8301 Sunset Blvd.
Spring Break on the Sunset Strip! This place has two-for-one drinks 4-8 p.m. This wild spot has food specials just about every night, as well.

The Comedy Store Patio
8433 Sunset Blvd.
Laugh at people as they walk by The Comedy Store by having a drink on the small patio of the famous comedy club. It's great for people watching.

Nonna Of Italy
9255 Sunset Blvd.
Italian cuisine and wines. Happy Hour 3-6.

Red Rock.
A8462 Sunset Blvd.
A small patio overlooks the Strip and bands play at night in this low-key bar (low-key, that is, until after dark when it rocks). There's also a weekend brunch Saturdays and Sundays, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

Rainbow Room
9015 Sunset Blvd.
This legendary Hollywood and music hangout has a Happy Hour! PubClub knows from personal experience Stellas are $3.50 (instead of the regular $6) and are ICE COLD. Domestic beers are $3 and well drinks are $4. Plus free parking (though don't drink and drive)! 4-7 p.m.

Sunset Trocadero
8280 Sunset Blvd.
The "Troc" as locals call it, Half-priced appetizers and drinks, including specialty martinis, champagne, bottles of wine from 6-8 p.m. The Key Lime Pie martini is a favorite.

The London West Hollywood
1020 San Vicente Blvd.
London After Five program features $5 champagne and sake, $5 "gourmet" bar bites and $5 valet parking at The London Bar, Wednesdays and Thursdays 5-7 p.m. In addition, The London Bar also has a signature "London Sunset" cocktail.

The Standard
8300 Sunset Blvd.
The "hot spot" and occasional celebrity spot has a Sunset Strip Cocktail (orange vodka, triple sec, orange juice and grenadine).

Classic Sunset Strip Food Joints

Everyone has to experience a Carney's chili dog.

Carney’s
8351 Sunset Blvd.
The legendary chili hot dog stand is in an old railway car. Not everyone in L.A., eats salads!

Barney's Beanery
8447 Santai Monica (at Holloway).
It's actually just off the Strip, but this is a roadhouse bar/food joint in the middle of the city. The 12-page menu has everything from breakfast to Chicken Fried Steak, but it's best known for its burgers and chili (or, for many, the chil with a burger). The onion rings are FANTASTIC! PubClub likes to wash it all down with a cold Kona Longboard from Hawaii.

A Harley keeps watch over the chili, onion rings and cold Kona.

Dukes West Hollywood
8908 Sunset Blvd.
A Sunset Strip staple since 1987, Dukes has the best breakfasts on the Strip, served all day.
