It attaches to the phone with a cord that's about a foot long, so that must be taken into space consideration, as well. The Fat Cat itself comes charged, so you can get it and go immediately. It charges through a USB plug on your computer. It comes with a number of attachments to hook it up to smart phones and other devices such as IPods, and you interchange them between charging and taking it with you.

The Power Bar 4200 costs $70. There is also a Power Bar 9600 for $120. The 4200 certainly is more than adequate for all day, and probably lasts for two days. But if you're out of reach of an outlet for several days, go for the 9600.
