BVI sailing photos, the ports, harbors, beaches and islands.

Picture This – Photos Of the BVIs
British Virgin Islands, Beaches, Sailboats and Harbors

The BVI's beauty includes beaches on Virgin Gorda and harbors like Cane Garden Bay.

"We traveled down to where the water
Has so many shades of blue.
Picked up our boat,
T o go sailing,
And make our dreams come true..."
- Singer Eric Stone

Picture prefect.

That is the British Virgin Islands, or BVIs.

The brilliant skies, aqua blue water and stunning island scenery make this one of the world's most beautiful places.

This island-by-island photo journal is from the eyes of the sailboats, sailors and crew who have cruised the calm waters at the leisurely pace inspired by the surrounding Caribbean beauty and culture.

Sandy Spit is a small island that looks like a live vacation brochure.

Tortola, from high atop a road leading to the Caribbean outpost of an airport.

The Baths at Virgin Gorda are a natural wonder and, naturally, an attraction.

Modern-day pirates now patrol the seas around the British Virgin Islands.

Out of order: Typical of island life in the BVIs.

Dive sites and good diving are as abundant as rum.

The caves off Norman Island is a favorite snorkel and kayak location.

On the airport's approach is this refueling dock in Bellamy Cay.

Caribbean music and Caribbean rum is plentiful throughout the BVIs.

– TORTOLA: SOPER'S HOLE MARINA –

Soper's Hole comes into view with this, well, view.

Here's a close-up, focused on Pusser's Pub.

Soper's Hole has a couple of pricey souvenir shops, plus the Jolly Roger bar.

– ANEGADA: THE SUNSETS –

Sunsets lead to high-spirited times on Anegada.

– JOST VAN DYKE: WHITE BEACH & THE SOGGY DOLLAR BAR –

People jump off their sailboats and swim for Painkillers to the Soggy Dollar Bar.

Nor more pain: The Painkiller was created at the Soggy Dollar Bar.

– PETER ISLAND –

The view from the Peter Island Resort is in line with the food ad the adjacent restaurant.

– VIRGIN GORDA: THE BATHS –

On the way to the restaurant/bar from Devil's Beach is, get this, a cactus field.

– VIRGIN GORDA: BITTER END YACHT CLUB –

The most beautiful place in the BVIs? The Bitter End competes for the compliment.

The better end – the Emporium pub has strong rum punch drinks.
