When it comes to partying, no other country makes a better host than
Greece.
This only appropriate, of course, considering the Greeks pretty much
invented the festival atmosphere. Long before the Australians discovered
Ios, the Greeks created a mythological figure just for the purpose of
drinking. Dionysys, the Greek God of Wine, was the original Party Animal.
He's also the only character in Mythology able to resurrect people from
death, which means if he were in Greece today he could cure that nasty
hangover and have you back on the beach by noon.
Greece is a land of islands for Dyionsys-type behavior, particularly
in the well-traveled path of the Cyclades (pronounced Cy-clod-ees) chain.
Mykonos (Meek-o-nose),

Ios (E-o-sss)

and Santorini (San-tore-een-nee, sometimes
also referred to as Thira),

These are the hostesses with the most-ess, but PubClub.com
also makes a pit stop at Paros (Pear-ous) and ventures to Corfu
(Core-fu) in the Ionian (I-own-e-an) chain for a trip to the legendary
Pink Palace.
The islands are as accommodating to a small group of friends as they
are to a large assembly. They invite a carefree existence that quickly
erases the thought of any hardships back home. Travel between the islands
is effortless and the prices are among the cheapest in Europe.
For a place with so many legendary structures, Greece actually has
very little of the mental kind when it comes to daily life. The pace
is slow, transportation runs on the schedule of the drivers and not
the passengers, and the answers to questions such as directions or what's
on the menu are often met with vague responses that leave a bit of uncertainly
lingering in the air.
While this carefree attitude irritates aggressive-minded travelers,
it refreshes the souls of those willing to swim in its calm waters.
Greece releases one's true sense of adventure; it really doesn't matter
what time it is, where your other friends have wondered off to, or what
time you make it back to your room (if at all). All you have to do is
remember to catch your flight home.
Greece has been catering to tourists longer than many countries have
been in existence, so they have things pretty much figured out. Taste
the pleasures of their legendary hospitality.
