Saturday is the busiest and most active day at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach. For many, it's the only day, and those are the people who want to cut loose and really party. That's because they don't have to wake up and go to work on Sunday. Tickets for Saturday are $42 and can be purchased by calling 888-82-SPEED.
Yes, there are girls at the Long Beach Grand Prix.
The Yard House, the Mai Tai Bar, the Hyatt and the beer margaritas stands around the track are as buzzing as their customers. And for those who want to actually watch what happens on the track, there is plenty of action for them, as well.
Olympic gold medal swimmer Dara Torres in the Pro/Celebrity race.
And it begins at 7:15 a.m., with the high-powered sports cars of the World Challenge Series on the track for practice. They are followed by practice for the development Indy Lights league, Indy Car practice from 10:25-11:25, the Pro/Celebrity Race from 11:40-12:40, Indy Car Qualifying and then a race of the exotic sports cars of the American LeMans Series (4:30-6:10 p.m.).
This year’s celebrity bang-up features Keanu Reeves , Christian Slater, Tony Hawk and Elaine’s deep-voiced boyfriend from Seinfield, Patrick Warburton.
Look for the Miss Grand Prix girls in the Expo for an autograph session in the afternoon.
The free Tecate Light Rock 'n Roar concert starts at 6:30 p.m.
