Long Beach Nightlife
The
Long Beach Grand Prix is one of Southern California's grandest parties.
Each April, tens of thousands flock downtown using the excuse
of an open-wheel car race through the palm tree-lined streets to
soak up the sunshine, the suds and, sometimes, each other.

The
PubClub.com party buses arrive at the World's Fastest Beach Party, the
Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, this past Saturday. Two buses carrying
more than 80 people were greeted by (below) Miss Toyota Grand Prix Lauren
McDonald (left), Miss San Jose Grand Prix Jennifer Field (center) and
Miss Face of Champ Car Lauren Gardner.
Kown internationally as the Monaco Grand Prix of the U.S., and billed
as the World's Fastest Beach Party, it's a springtime sensation, an
annual adventure for those with adventure.
Not being one to pass up an opportunity to party en masse, PubClub.com
organizes a Party Bus
to the event on the prime party day of the three-day
event, Saturday. It starts early, with "bloody breakfast"
in Hermosa
Beach, then fills with the festive flavor of PubClubbers.
In 2006, nearly 60 people made the trip. In '05, two sold out buses
rolled to the main gate, greeted by media, fans and the PubClub.com
Party Bus Greeter Girls: PC Columnist and Miss
Indy Canada 2003 Lynne Kush and Miss Long Beach Grand
Prix 2004 Natalie James.

Miss Face of Champ
Car Brandi Latimer greets then joins the group in '06.
After the photos and interviews, it's off to the Grand Prix grounds.
Some head straight for the waterside bars, while others enjoy the outdoors,
watch the Pro/Celebrity race and seeing and being seen by others at
the event. And THEN they go to the bars.

PubClubettes Nyshia (right) and The Blonde show off their bubbly personality.

The party on the
way down primed the PubClubbers to rock 'n roar.

PubClub columnist Lynne Kush and Miss GP Nataline James welcome the
PubClubbers.
The Grand (Prix) Party
Some people never see the race track.
They spend all their time in the bars. This is part of what makes the
Grand Prix so grand.

Pennywise Concert: Rock 'n Roar (Bad Religion for '06)

After the day's on-track activity, there's plenty of action remaining
at the Grand Prix. In 2005, Pennywise played a free concert. In '06,
was Bad Religion and Taking Back Sunday took the stage in '07.
The crowd loved itt all, turning the area by the stage into a frenzy
of waving arms and wild antics. People were passed through the crowd
on hands, landed on the other side of the barricades and were escorted
back to the crowd by security. This happened every couple of minutes
for half an hour.
So many people packed the main stage area that police actually closed
it to newcomers in a crowd control measure.
Wild.
And right in the middle of it were two Party Bus PubClubettes, rockin'
from the shoulders of tall guys at the front.
But this being the Grand Prix, the entertainment was far from the finish
line. After Pennywise, the
Miss Grand Prix pageant began, concluding just
as the sun was setting over the Pacific Ocean.
