Winnter Enjoy Their Role at Long Beach Grand Prixs

The 2010 Miss Tecate Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach is Alyssa Meeks. She was crowned on Thursday, April 15 before a a big crowd in a lively finals contest held in downtown Long Beach on Pine Ave., as part of Thursday Thunder (talk about a break from tax day!).

She was the top vote-getter from 14 finalists. Ashley Labady was first runner-up with Sofia Alvarez was the second runner-up.

Alyssa's first duty as Miss Gradn Prix was to wake up at 5 a.m., and appear with Garth Kemp of KABC TV-7 to help him do the weather from the track. She was so well received, Kempt kept her on the air for two segments.

She them met up with Ashley and Sofia for three days of fun at the track. The met fans, had their picture taken thousands of times by race-goers and media, were on the podium for Saturday's Pro/Celebrity Race and Sunday's Indy Lights and IndyCar race, were treated to breakfast by the Long Beach Visitor's and Convention bureau, made frequent visits to the club-like Tecate VIP tent and watched much of the race from high above the track on the roof of the Hyatt hotel.

Already, there have been two preliminary contests at Long Beach bars to determine the finalists. The top three girls will attend the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach and one lucky girl will receive the title of Miss Tecate Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, along with cash prizes, endorsements, and national publicity.

The Long Beach Grand Prix is a huge event watched by millions of spectators and viewers. The girls get to be on the grid and in Victory Circle for the Toyota Pro/Celebrity race, the Indy Lights race and the main event, the Indy Car race on Sunday.

Plus, the ladies are invited to VIP parties, sponsor events and spend much of the three days walking around among the many thousands of fans at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach.
