PubClub.com's Summer 2002 Newsletter:
Fun, Fun Fun!

Thanks to Trishia (left) and bartender Bonnie, we got "spiked" at the AVP.

Daddy, please donıt take the T-bird away, because we are having fun, fun, fun this summer. Hot off a pair of true Southern California beach events, we've got sand between our toes and white stuff on our nose.

But that's not all. With the college football season around the corner we've added more party schools to our list, created Party Buses with bar tours in two of our destinations and cadded a new city for youto check out. On the horizon are even more adventures.

So let's get rolling!

Where We've Been

Take a virtual visit to our Top Dance Club in Seattle.

• AVP Manhattan Open. Who won this year? Easy We did! Thanks to the Trish Margaritas, we got spiked more often than the volleyballs. Still, we managed to enjoy the action. The Manhattan Open AVP beach volleyball tournament was so big, it was covered in last week's Sports Illustrated. That article is not as good as what you can see and read on PubClub.com:
http://www.pubclub.com/specialevents/avp02.htm

• Seattle. If you are ever headed to the place made famous by movies, Frazier, the Space Needle and Pike Place Market, we can tell you where to go to party. Hint: Start at Pesos in the Queen Anne area. This Mexican cantina has a hip crowd for Happy Hour that serves as a launching pad for the rest of the night. Or, you may just toss out the anchor right there. Youi've got to go to PubClub.com to find it because it's not on any other Seattle web site or in any tour book:

Where We're Going

It's a real scene at San Diego's Street Scene.

•  The Molson Indy. Again, you say? Hey, if they keep holding them, we'll keep going to them. This time it's in Montreal and we've got the full party schedule on our special Molson Indy party guide at:
http://www.pubclub.com/specialevents/molsonindy.htm

• The Shell Grand Prix of Denver/Taste of Denver. We're going to keep moving at high speed by doing Labor Day in Denver. With two festive events, Denver one of the top places in the country to spend the long weekend. Look for our ongoing coverage.

•  San Diego Street Scene. The country's biggest post-Labor Day block party is in San Diego. For the second consecutive year, PubClub.com will be at this mini-Mardi Gras, a street festival which features party people in costume and big-name bands. For example, the Stone Temple Pilots play on Friday, Sept. 6. Check out the scene from last year at:
http://www.pubclub.com/specialevents/streetscene.htm

• Jimmy Buffett Theme Room in Napa Valley. We ran across this little gem through a press release. Seems there is an inn in the Northern California wine country with various theme rooms. One is devoted to Buffett. It contains the only Parrothead Bottle of wine and something called the "Fool Button." Hmmmm. We're going to check it out and will tell you if it gets our Phins Up (insert joke here).

Where are YOU Going???

• Our Events Calendar has the information on Oktoberfest, La Tomatina in Spain (the huge tomato fight party), and a huge reggae street festival in London. Not only that, we've listed the top college football games for the upcoming season the biggest rivalries, rankings and tailgate parties.
http://www.pubclub.com/eventscalendar/index.htm

• Speaking of college football, it beings this weekend. As a tribute to all the fine institutions of learning out there, we have published comments from readers and students on places other than our Top 10 list that claim to be Top Party Schools:

Go There in Style on the Party Bus!

• PubClub.com now has party buses in San Francisco and Las Vegas. Take a night on the town with VIP entrance to bars and nightclubs. In Vegas, we will even pick you up at the airport, shuttle you around the Strip and take you on trips from the Hoover Dam our our "XXX" tour.

We can also arrange a Party Bus in Los Angeles for your group. The cost is only around $20 per person, depending on the number of people in your party. So why not get a group and go to a concert, a different of town in which you want to party or, say,to the USC-Auburn football game on Saturday, Sept. 2. By the next newsletter, we hope to have Chicago on board, and may even arrange Party Buses to Bears' games.

For more, go to our Party Bus pages in those cities and to book or inquiries, send an e-mail to: kevinwilkerson@pubclub.com

Speaking of Party Buses

The Goo Goo Dolls played a free concert after this year's Long Beach GP.

• We call this planning ahead, but this is going to be such a big event we want to tell you about it now. PubClub.com, Sharkeez and the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach are combining to bring you the Long Beach Grand Prix '03. We will be providing transportation and ticket packages from the Hermosa Beach and Manhattan Beach locations to the Grand Prix on Saturday of race week. Sharkeez will provide drink and food specials. If there is enough interest, we can also launch a bus from the Orange County location. Check out the grand party at the Grand Prix:
http://www.pubclub.com/happyhour/longbeachgp02sun.htm

If you cannot wait that long, we can also arrange buses to the CART race in Fontana, California. On Saturday, November 2, come enjoy CART qualifying and the NASCAR Truck race, then stay for the free infield concert. The band has yet to be named, but last year more than 10,000 people partied to the Doobie Bros. E-mail us if interested in attending the Fury in Fontana at: kevinwilkerson@pubclub.com

PubClubbers Appreciation Party

• We're throwing a party for you! Itıs coming up next month and will be held at Baja Sharkeez in Manhattan Beach, CA. It will feature 2-for-1 drinks, free appetizers and more. Stay tuned for details!

Update in L.A.

PubClub's Best Dance Club is no more. The Crush Bar in Hollywood has closed. A restaurant will soon open in its location. Bummer! Now, we've got to find a new dance club award-winner. Keep checking our guide to the City of Angels to see how we succeed:

Fun Facts

We didn't find anything on our own, so we went to our pals at Cyberstuff.net, in search of some cool Fun Facts and, as usual, they didn't let us down. For more on these and other interesting items, hit the Cyberstuff link here or on the PubClub.com home page.

•  Of Mice and Men? We hope not! Mice have produced pig and goat sperm after having bits of testicles transplanted under their skin in an experiment that could one day help men father children even if they lose their testicles. PubClub predicts that finding volunteers for any human experiments will be damned near impossible.

• Making Music (On Your Computer). In a victory for Internet music broadcasters, the government has decided that songs delivered online will be charged royalty fees at a rate that is half of what was originally proposed by an arbitration panel. Webcasters will be charged at a rate that amounts to 70 cents per song for each one thousand listeners. So keep downloading those obscure tunes!

Cheers!
