PubClub.com Newsletter:
New Year 2003!

Happy New Year! Now, le't s go out and "PubClub" like it's 2000 and 3!

Welcome to the PubClub.com newsletter.

We trust everyone had an excellent holiday and a champagne-rattling New Year's. It is well documented within our site that we consider New Year's Eve to be "amateurıs night," but one might as well be out celebrating anyway.

So hey, welcome to the New Year and "PubClub" like it's Two Thousand and Three!

Do We Know Where to Be, or WHAT!?

This past Monday, we were part of a "secret" crowd at a bar in Hermosa Beach, CA, to join contestants to watch themselves on the "Joe Millionaire" TV show. Four of the girls – three of whom advanced to the second round – gathered to see themselves drool over the money and the man. They even brought along a gold shovel and passed it around when one made a gold-digging comment. Anyone who logged onto our site on Tuesday saw a photo from the event. Those who didn't well, you should have! Still, we're keeping the pic on our party photo page:

Where We've Been

Ahh, gorgeous Lake Tahoe, so big it takes two states to contain it all.

How was your New Year's? We were in Lake Tahoe, gambling, skiing and reveling. We were also researching the slopes and the nightlife. When the snow settles, we'll write up a NYE guide to Tahoe. We did, however, compile a guide to the area (see below): This and other hot places and information has been added to the site:

• Lake Tahoe. The action is centered around the casinos, but there are 14 mountain resorts to enjoy. And a few of local bars give a real feel for the area. Check out our resorts, bar and nightlife guide to Lake Tahoe, focusing in on the South Shore. And we have updated mountain and bar guides to Aspen, the revamped Mammoth, Park City and Whistler. Even more resorts are on the way, including beautiful and crazy St. Anton in the Austrian Alps (look for that one next week).

The second link below will connect you to all our Ski Resort pages

• Ski Resorts Lift Ticket Prices. Trust us. There is nowhere other than here where you can get lift ticket prices for all major ski resorts around the world. A one-click glance at one, two and three-day prices of what it costs to get wild at these winterland wonders. And we're always expanding the resorts we include:

• Super Bowl XXXVII Party Guide. What to know where to party in San Diego for the BIG GAME later this month? PubClub.com has the information on our Super Bowl Party Page. Learn where to watch free fireworks, throw a touchdown pass at the NFL Experience and later, go for a score of a different kind at the sponsor exhibit pavilions. It will be a party all weekend!

• Youıre Invited to an On-site Super Bowl Party. Here's a party in San Diego you can actually attend. Most of the best parties are private or corporate affairs open only to the privileged few. You will see all those hot girls and guys, athletes and celebrities walk through the velvet ropes while you watch from a distance. But YOU can be a part of all this excitement at EcoBowl 2003, a star- and starlet-studded affair hosted by Tara Reid, Shannon Elizabeth, Rosarito Dawson and professional baseball player Gregg Zaun. It's Thursday night, 9-2 @ E Street Alley, a club in the Gaslamp District. The event covers Hors d' oeuvres, drinks and excellent jaw-dropping people gazing and mingling. For more info, check out either our Super Bowl Party Page, our Events Calendar page or the EcoBowl web site at: http://www.ecobowl2003.com

Where We're Going

•  Super Bowl 10K. We're the ones with the buckets on our heads, running in the Redondo Beach, CA 10K, Sponsored by Sharkeez, we put on grass skirts and go crazy. Especially in Sharkeez Hermosa Beach after the race. Drop us a note if you want to run.

Travel News & Fun Facts

• No More Free Drinks! In PR speak, it's called "further efforts to cut costs." In PubClub-speak it is just another method of squeezing every dollar and amount of pleasure out of travelers. At any rate, this one hurts more than that silly "oversized checked baggage" charge. America, Continental, Delta and US Airways are no longer serving free drinks on international flights! Other US carries may soon follow the lead.

This long-time back-of-the-plane benefit is flying out the window. So, instead of forking over $4 a cocktail a 14-hour (or so) flight, we suggest applying that time-honored American tradition of sneaking booze into football games to international flights. Be discreet, though. And don't act like an idiot. We've checked with some flight attendants and they will usually turn their heads IF people are well-behaved and not obnoxious. But even if you are mild-mannered and get caught, simply mention you are upset about being charged bar prices for what used to be gratis. Maybe we can win back those free drinks.

Hawaiian Airlines, by the way, is the only airline that allows passengers to bring their own booze on board. That is IF you call first (say it's for a special occasion). But the flight attendants must pour the drinks. And get this: American Eagle gives free beer on New York City-Washington, D.C--Boston flights. Southwest, of course, sends free drink coupons to frequent flyers.

Be sure and check out www.cyberstuff.net for more cool and interesting Fun Facts. And if you live in Southern California, sign on for free Happy Hour parties and to be a Guest Bartender at http://www.sharkeez.net.

Cheers!
