PubClub.com Newsletter:
July
2003

PubClub, with
the help of the Indy, will paint the towns of Toronto and Vancover red.
From somewhere high over
North America, welcome to the PubClub.com newsletter.
As we write this, we are headed from Los Angeles to Toronto
for the Molson Indy, a combination street party, city festival and car
race. Look for it to dominate our Shot of the Day, which will link to
our full party/event coverage. We'll be hanging with Team Red, the beautiful
girls who promote the race at the week-long blow-out bashes, street
party, VIP party and at the track.
For a preview and a list of events, go to our Party
Guide.
For our next trip, we're doing more of the same in a different
location. It will be the Molson Indy Vancouver, held in the city just
selected to be host of the 2012 Winter Olympic Games. For a look at
our city and bar guide to Vancouver, click
here.
But before we go too far, here's the parties and events
we've added to the site.
Expanded Events Calendar; Local City Events
Our Events Calendar continues to expand.
To help you plan out weekends or trips to the World's
Best Parties, we've greatly expanded the section to peer down that road
to the best parties, events and festivals. Now, you can plan your partying
up to two months in advance. As a result, we have the dates and information
on the Great British Beer Festival in London, Street Scene in San Diego
(where REM is the headline band), even the Muff Festival in Muff, Ireland,
and much, much more.
At the top of the page, we've highlighted the Top Events
for the Week. For instance, this week it's Running With the Bulls, the
Molson Indy, Calgary Stampede, the Berlin Love Festival and the Tour
de France. We provide links to our own party guides to certain events
as well as links to the event's official web site for more information,
purchase tickets, etc.
Check
it out!
In addition to this worldwide calendar, we have added
major events and festivals to many of our city guides, as well. For
instance, anyone who lives in Portland knows the summer micro-brew festival
is a must-attend, but do you know this year's dates? Need an event web
site for reference? And, if you don't live there and are considering
a visit, then this would be an ideal time to go.
Live in San Diego and want to know about when the horses
run at Del Mar? Want to attend a ceremony where they give a star to
a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame? Heck, just want to know if there's
a big evening going on in your area on the weekend? It's there.
In a simple, easy-to-read format, these events are posted
on several pages within several of our city guides, so it's easy to
find what's happening. Heck, we've even added schedules of certain baseball
teams with fun stadium atmospheres Wrigley Field, Seattle, etc.
We hope you like this new feature and use it often.
Team
PubClub Beach Volleyball!

Get shots from pro
beach volleyball player Collin Smith during our bar promos.
We've always been one to like combining the beach with
a party, which is why we are now sponsoring two players on the Association
of Volleyball Professionals (AVP) beach volleyball tour.
Adam Jewell and Collin Smith are two of the top players
on the beach and we're bringing them to you with a series of bar promotions
during tournament weekend. We've already been to the Mervyn's
Beach Bash in Hermosa Beach and the sands of San
Diego. In August, we will be doing promotions all along the
beach bars for the Manhattan Open (the Super Bowl of beach volleyball),
Surf City in Huntington Beach, CA., and Chicago.
Adam and Collin will be serving drinks from behind the
bar, signing autographs and, for those aspiring King of the Beach recreational
players, giving volleyball tips.
Beach volleyballl events combine great athletic skills
and superb shotmaking with a casual, beach-party atmosphere. The players
like to pound down the drinks as much as the fans, so it's a socially
rich setting.
Check the Site for times and locations (click on the respective
city for details).
Estero
Beach

Things got out of
control in the Jacuzzi at Estero Beach volleyball weekend.
For 51 weeks, it's a sleepy coastal area of Baja,
Mexico. But on that 52nd week, Oh My!
Estero Beach turns into one of the World's Great Party
Spots with the annual volleyball tournament (held the last weekend of
June this year). It's ideal for those who like to drink on the beach
all day and don't mind losing their swimsuit or bikini top in the Jacuzzi.
And you won't believe what we heard happen in the pool this year! Check
Out our updated report and guide, with all-new photos!
Our
Roving Party Animal Strikes Again
The Bartender, our Roving Party Animal columnist, had
an experience recently he would like to share with you. We won't give
it away, but it involves beautiful Monterey, California, a beautiful
blonde, historic race track and, of course, a few beers. Column.
Do
You Like A Great Party?
Yeah, so do we! And we found a perfect party spot
Lake Tavis in Austin, Texas. We were there for Memorial Day
weekend (WHOA!) and while we couldn't make it back for the Fourth, we
highly recommend it any summer weekend and on
Labor Day. Of course, you need a boat to fully enjoy it.
Tip: If you look good in a bikini, you will find a boat.
Coming
Soon
We will be adding One Night Stand reviews
for Austin, Texas and Tokyo.
The
Party Buses Keep Rolling!
Get
a limo for a night on the town.
Just a friendly reminder. If you want to party,
charter your own party bus. We have cable cars in San Francisco, an
open-air Hummer in San Diego, double-decker bus in London and limos
everywhere. We're also putting together VIP clubs in Vegas as part of
our limo party bus Sin City Service. Here are our Party Bus Places:

PubClub's Party News
Don't Do This. From the Can Anyone Be That
Stupid Dept.: Portland Trail Blazers guar Damon Stoudamire was arrested
for drugs at an airport. While having drugs at an airport is an invitation
to trouble, Stoudamire took it to a whole new level. He had 1 1/2 ounces
of marijuana wrapped in aluminum foil and set off the security alarm!
Can anyone really be that out of touch with reality?
