The second-ranked
USC Trojans host cross-town rival UCLA.
When the calendar turns
to November, things really heat up in college football.
That's when all the great rivalry games . This weekend
it's The Iron Bowl (Alabama-Auburn), the Apple Cup (Washington State-Washington)
USC-UCLA, Ohio State-Michigan and what for many outside the two schools
usually doesn't mean a lot but is a real Southern barnburner, LSU-Mississippi.
With the BCS which we feel has one too many letters in it, if
you get out point possibly screwing up our New Year's/Sugar Bowl
trip to New Orleans because it has Ohio State inexcusably ranked ahead
of USC, three of these games all have major national championship implications.
The emotions of all these contests are at a season high.
This means the pre-game tailgate parties are not to be missed! We will
be at the Los Angeles Coliseum for the Trojans-Bruins.
Who will win? Check
out our picks and BS er, BCS thoughts.
Party
Event Tonight

We
personally tested out the Navy Grogs last weekend to prep for Wednesday.
For those living in
Los Angeles, it's the annual Holiday Open House in downtown Manhattan
Beach. From 5-8, all the downtown stroes open up their doors and offer
a bit of Holiday cheer. Most serve beer, wine or champagne and snacks.
It's not a raging block party, mind you, but a somewhat
upscale event with several hundred people wandering in and out of the
stores and songs on the street corners.
Of course, we turn it into a mini-pub crawl. We're gathering
at Rock 'N Fish (120 Manhattan Beach Blvd.) at 6 for half-price Navy
Grogs. Afterward, it's stops in the other bars in the area.
If you can't make it tonight then try and get to Rock
'N Fish sometime in November The Navy Grogs are $3 all month. This is
an excellent seafood restaurant with a Cajun touch and the bar scene
after 10 has become among the best downtown.
Just around the corner is the Manhattan Beach Fireworks
(Dec. 14),which produces not only a great show over the Pacific but
one of the best party atmospheres of the year.
See our Manhattan
Beach Bar Guide.

More Parties and Events
Americans are not the only ones having a big football
weekend.
In Toronto,
Canada will crown its national collegiate champion in the
Vanier Cup. (Eh, how is it that the Canadians are able to have
an undisputed champion while the Americans can not?)
And for those of you in Sydney,
the Rugby World Cup semis are Thursday with the finals taking
place Saturday.
For the more sophisticated PubClubber, there
is a wine festival in Chablis, France.
NEXT WEEK: It's the annual Cannabis Cup.
It is necessary to point out this is taking place in
Amsterdam?
And while Americans are stuffing themselves with the bird
on Thanksgiving weekend, tens of thousands of Aussies will be soaking
in suds and music at Earthcore at the Gouldburn River in Victoria,
Australia.
This and more is currently on our Worldwide
Party Events Calendar.

Ahh, just look at that picture
for a second. Fresh snow on a beautiful mountain with a lodge full of
coctails waiting to satisfy a pallat made hungry and thursty by a great
day blasting down hills and through trails.
Yes, it's almost that time of the year again.
And we've been spending a lot of time updating information
on the top Ski Resorts around the world. Like last year, we've compiled
what we believe is the world's only one-stop guide to lift ticket prices
at these and other ski/snowboard areas, including tips and tricks for
getting discounts. We're ready to hit the slopes how about you!?

Looking
Back on Halloween

So,
who got to Victory Circle, we're wondering!
What was the best costume you saw? In
Chicago it was a guy with headphones and a Notre Dame shirt dropping
a baseball. How many Arnolds did you see in California? See what we
saw by looking back at the various costumes from this all-too-fun and
not-just-for kids celebration.

Party & Travel News
TRAVEL WITH CAUTION, ZONIES. The University
of Arizona is warning students about trips to Sonora Bay, Mexico put
on by a company called Pulse New York Productions. After a Labor Day
trip, some students are having drugs put in their drinks one was kidnapped
and a pair of partiers got left, spent a night in jail and had to
hitchhike back to Tuscon. Among one of the warnings police are providing
to students is this one: It is apparently illegial for anyone under
the age of 21 to enter the state of Arizona with alcohol in their system.
THIS BUDD'S NOT FOR YOU. From our friends
at www.HappyHours.com
comes this gem: A New Hampshire brewery cannot use the name "Billy
Budd" for its ale because beer drinkers might confuse it with the
"Bud" family of beers, a federal judge has ruled. U.S. District
Judge Joseph DiClerico ruled against Caught-On-Bleu Inc. of Franconia,
N.H., in a trademark infringement lawsuit brought last year by St. Louis-based
Anheuser-Busch Inc., the makers of Budweiser.
TRUE OR NOT, WE SUPPORT IT. Making
the Internet rounds is a very legitimate-looking CNN site with a report
from a Duke University research team claiming that women who perform
oral sex at least once a week significantly reduce their chances for
breast cancer. "Itry to do this 2 or 3 times a week and ecourage
all females to do the same," the female doctor was quoted as saying.
That's what made us raise the red flag on this one. However, since PubClub.com
does not want to put any of its members at risk, then we suggest going
along with the findings just to be safe.
THIS ONE WE BELIEVE. This from Forbes magazine:
Having regular and enthusiastic sex, by contrast, confers a host of
measurable physiological advantages, be you male or female. Among the
results of frequent sex are these life-enhancing benefits: Improved
sense of smell, reduced risk of heart disease, reduced depression (yeah,
you don't feel like a loser so often!), less frequent colds and flu
(an ideal precaution for this time of the year and help out those who
seem to be sneezing a lot) pain relief and better physical condition
(that one is pretty obvous)." So, have at it!
Until
Next Time!
