A "Model" Columnist

Lynne Kush. Photos: Ryan Visima Photgraphy, Toronto

Between photo assignments for the Toronto Sun 2005 Calendar, the Miss Indy Australia 2005 Calendar, finishing second in the Miss Swimsuit Canada contest AND holding down jobs with the City of Toronto and at a local restaurant, plus being a full-time chiropractic intern, the lovely Lynne Kushnirenko has managed to find the time to write her first column for PubClub. Appropriately enough, we're calling it " Lynne's Life in the Fast Lane." Check today's Shot of the Day, or go directly to her column:

Boston's Best Bars

Bostonians are friendly and quick to buy strangers a drink.

We spent a week researching Boston and a week writing about it. And wouldn't you know it, we found our favorite bar the very first night!

Like the Big Dig, we unearthed the city and through our photos and prose we've put it all back together. Not only do we have the pubs and the clubs, after-work places and sports bars, but we have the history, the sights and the interesting facts about how beer and taverns have always been a part of the city's heritage. Were you aware that John Hancock used to throw keg parties on the Common? And we also found the city's Best Burger and Best Chowder. Here's the lead page; use the links to read the entire guide, or go straight to the pubs, clubs, restaurants, complete visitor's guide and sightseeing section.

Ballparks and Beer: Fenway Park

Ballparks and beer captures the flavor and atmosphere before and after games.

What's the biggest sporting event this weekend? Yankees vs. Red Sox in Fenway Park. While in Boston, we went into the bars before and after a game and will be adding legendary Fenway Park to our new Ballparks and Beer section. The idea is to capture the atmosphere of cool stadiums around the USA. And at Fenway, there's a lot of atmosphere to absorb.

Jimmy Buffett in Fenway Park

The Green Monster framed the stage and 50,000+ Parrotheads partied.

What happens when two great legends collide? You get The Perfect Storm of concerts. That's what happened when Jimmy Buffett sailed his stage up next to the Green Monster and played Fenway Park. (Note the timing of our Boston trip). We were there and have pics and a writeup. Of course, if one was great then two must be awesome! So of course after the epic Friday night show, we went to the second one on Sunday. No tailgating, the say? No problem! After all, there are bars up and down Lansdowne Street and they kept served the Parrotheads those frozen concoctions. NOW who's to blame?
