Videos of the Vancouver Olympics
Oh, Canada, You Put On A Spectacular Show

There is fun in photos but scroll below for videos from the Vancouver Games.
The Olympic Games are one big social, sports and party event. While words and pictures certainly tell part of the tale, it takes video to really show the story.
PubClub.com put together these videos not of the competitions taking place but of the scenes surrounding the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.
The videos are from both Whistler and Vancouver, including an inspirational one with Canadians celebrating, then singing "Oh Canada" as one of their favorite athletes accepts his Gold Medal.
– THE CAULDRON AT MIDNIGHT–
Despite the fact that officials put a fence around it, the most popular photo spot at the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games has been the cauldron which that holds the Olympic flame.
Located just down from Canada Place in Vancouver, it's packed at all times of the day. Even at midnight, when this video was filmed, a couple of hundred people gather around it.
– PROUD CANADIANS CELEBRATE –
In addition to being mild-mannered and friendly, Canadians are downright patriotic. Especially when their teams are playing and even more so when one of their athletes received a Gold Medal to the sounds of "Oh Canada."
This video is from a combination of places in Vancouver – a bar in Yaletown and Downtown Live. The Gold Medallist is Jon Montgomery, the skeleton champion who endured himself to his country by walking through the Whistler Village drinking out of a pitcher of beer after winning Gold.
– WHISTLER VILLAGE –
While Vancouver was covered with Canadians, the more compact Whistler Village was full of international flavor. This video shows a Swiss ski jumper signing autographs after he won his Gold Medal, daily entertainment in the Village, two of the nightly concerts and the rocking nightlife (from Buffalo Bill's).
– WHISTLER SLIDING CENTER –
The Whistler Sliding Center – fast and even (sadly) dangerous for competitors – proved to be a thrill for spectators. For a GA ticket fans could walk all up and down the massive facility and get dozens of different viewing angles.
This video is of the women's skeleton, a face-down luge, from the final turn headed to the finish line. These athletes reached speeds reach of more than 100kph.
