Welcome to The Pacific Northwest!

It' doesn't always rain, bringing beautiful days like this one in Seattle.

On the edge of the the continent, massive mountain ranges on one side and the Pacific pressing against the other, the Pacific Northwest provides a plethora of panoramic and personal pleasures for the heart and soul.

The dramatic diversity of land and sea in a relatively small area creates vast opportunities, with activities as lush as the landscape.

Visitors can expect to find that seemingly geographical opposites do indeed attract in this unique area – the cliffs of the Oregon Coast a half-day's drive from Mt. St. Helens, small islands close to ski resorts, a gushing gorge with little civilization in site just an hour from a big-city brewpubs.

And it is within those cities where many tourists find the region's greatest riches. Seattle is known for its spectacular restaurants and Pike Place Market, which is practically within sight of migrating grey whales. Portland is the home of the home-brew, a city with a small-town feel and cozy downtown. Vancouver is a mix of city sizzle and earth-conscious environmentalists where Hollywood movie makers mix it up at Pacific Rim restaurants while youthful backpackers hold down a heritage of tree-hugging. Whistler is one of the world's top ski resorts.

PubClub's guide to the Pacific Northwest has it all, from the Gorge to gorging in the restaurants, hiking the mountains to hiking to the shopping sports and nocturnal nightlife from pubs to the clubs. Each link below contains the keys to the area's treasures, starting with an introduction guide and following up with what the locals know about activities, dining, sightseeing and nightlife.
