The Space Needle, located at Seattle Center, is the city's centerpiece landmark.

Set against the scenic backdrops of Mt. Ranier and Puget Sound, Seattle stands as tall as a stately pine in the magical Pacific Northwest. In fact, it is built on seven hills between the Pacific to the west and freshwater lakes to the east.

It is home to Boeing, Microsoft, Alaska Airlines, the University of Washington and, for you shopping enthusiasts, Nordstrom. Several professional sports franchises are located here and while championships are rare, the teams are usually good enough to give the home folks eternal hope.

It has a thriving bar scene and no, you don't have to dress like Kurt Cobain to enjoy it.
