San Francisco Bar Guide

The party of all San Francisco parties continued and was one of the best ever in 2007.

Bay to Breakers once again defined the freedom of this city with a spectacular event filled with the usual creative costumes (and quite a few people who just didn't bother with costumes, though may opted for body paint instead).

Seen at the 96th running (and walking, pacing and certainly drinking) Bay to Breakers, there was the moving band stage, the toga party (naturally)the Caddyshack movie cast and the very creative port-o-party, the Elvis' (of course), a Gilligan's Island hammock team (Ginger or Mary Ann???), Pamplona-dressed dodgeballers, and scrabble pieces that spelled words on request.

This annual festival of 75,000 of the City's finest – and not so finest – find a way to celebrate life, make harmless political statements and frankly just party crazily in the streets.

After all, what better way to spend a sunny Sunday in the City than to cruise through the streets, pass by bands and hose parties and wind up in the park, all while partying the entire way?

In 2007, the weather was beautiful and the spirts high. And the spirits flowed, from kegs on floats, in shopping carts, beer hats and just the "regular" pepole who brough their own in coolers, jugs or backpacks.

In other words, it was your typical Bay to Breakers.

One new element was the closing of the Golden Gate Park entrance after a certain time period, though Footstock was free and open to the public afterward and featured a beer garden (as if anyone needs it at that point) and a concert by the band Cracker.

Enjoy our photo journal. After all, a picture is indeed worth a thousand words.
