It's s big moving
block party, and the 2003 crowd went wild.
A top float for '04 was a wild once themed for the Athens Summer Olympics.
The beer bongs were out in force in '04 on a high-60s sunny beautiful
day.
A wild rooftop party
along the route.
With activity such as this at the tiki bar, finishing this "race"
is not the objective.
There are more shopping
carts at Bay to Breakers than at the local super markets.
The odd "float"
designs paraded through the streets in
2003.
In 2002,
it was Soaking Wet in the City. But still fun!
Coming up in the
rear is preferable to finishing first in this event.
Mimimal
clothing abounds,
...taken to greater
extremes by others.
Street parties break
out all along the event route.
Kegs
on the go!
Tropical paradise
for some is a day following the tiki bar.
The race manages
to avoid all but one of San Francisco's famous huge hills.
The pace is so casual,
people stop frequently along the way, sometimes just to watch.
Footfest attracts
a suprisingly sedate crowd..
