Mobile Margaritaville –
Buffett in L.A.
Jimmy wasn't the
only one making music at Irvine Meadows.
The Phins were up, and while the weather
was just there, the scene was beautiful.
Despite largely overcast skies, Jimmy Buffett fans turned out by the
thousands as their song-performing hero played two concerts in Southern
California over Memorial Day weekend. The first was Saturday and the
second was on Memorial Day itself.
 As
usual, there was a feeding frenzy of a tailgate party. When Jimmy says
Margaritaville is wherever you want it to be, well, for Parrotheads
it's right here in these pre-concert tailgate parties The large parking
lot at this venue makes it Parrothead heaven for motorhomes, campers,
beaches, bars and boat drinks.
PubClub.com arrived via chartered bus and wherever we went there was
rum (and we definitely had some). Plus tequila. And beer. And delicious
pina coladas made in a blender powered by a motorcycle engine and operated
with handlebars.
We did it again with a smaller group two days later. We were definitely
wasted away again in Margaritaville.
