Singer Nieve Malandra leads New Orleans Nights at this cozy almost-hidden bar. Finding it may prove to be a challenge but for lovers of a relaxed evening with a talented singer in a modern speakeasy setting it’s right in your comfort zone.
The 1923 Prohibition Bar at Mandalay Bay is located upstairs from the House of Blues and adjacent to the minus5 Ice Bar. Combine the two and you can have a unique nightlife experience while in Vegas. Both are in The Shoppes at Mandalay Place
Malandra performs on weekends from 9 p.m.-midnight. She is a native of San Francisco who grew up singing in cafés and restaurants. After relocating to Los Angeles, she quickly became known as a versatile voice, mastering several styles and developing an expansive vocal range.
She has worked in Las Vegas with her jazz band for several years, and she also performs as the lead female vocalist for the band Zowie Bowie.
The 1923 Prohibition Bar features bourbon spirits and barrel-aged specialty cocktails. venue also hosts live burlesque shows, live rock band karaoke and bourbon education and tasting classes.
