In Las Vegas, they like to do things with a bang.

And that’s precisely what’s happening on the 4th of July weekend on the Strip.

It’s holding a huge block party with live entertainment, a jump by the Red Bull Air Force and fireworks. That’s on Sunday, July 3, and all weekend Caesars Palace is hosting events as part of its 50th anniversary celebration, which is taking place this summer.

The Independence Day Weekend Party, as it’s being called, starts at 8 p.m., with a performance by “American Idol” season five winnerTaylor Hicks, the Red Bull jumpers flying in and landing in front of Caesars Palace at 9, followed by a huge fireworks show.

All this is free and open to the public and don’t forget, you can have drinks on The Strip in Vegas.

Starting Friday and running through Monday, the Roman Plaza and Spanish Steps directly in front of Caesars Palace will be one big block party with live music, cocktails, life size games, patriotic decorations and BBQ specials at Serendipity 3.

“The festivities will be highlighted on the evening of Sunday, July 3 with a thrilling stunt honoring Caesars daredevil legacy, a fireworks extravaganza which will be among the largest displays Caesars has ever done, live music and a free public celebration in front of Caesars Palace,” said Caesars Palace President Gary Selesner.

Las Vegas also holds block parties along The Strip for Halloween and New Year’s Eve.  And of course, for the 4th of July!
