Bottomless Mimosas, Breakfast Happy Hours & Transplanted Football Fans The Pier

Every fall Sunday, the bars of Hermosa Beach are packed with fans watching NFL games.

Transplants from NFL cities gather to watch their hometown team. Or maybe they are not really fans, but simply know a good time, and like to go out because it’s a good time on the Hermosa pier.

Part of the reason for that is that the bars offer food and drink specials, including bottomless mimosas, with breakfast.

The places fill up early so if you want a table for the early games and want to take advantage of the free mimosa specials, you’re going to have to shake off that Saturday night hangover and be seated by 9 a.m.

As for what fans watch what teams at what bars, it’s pretty varied because of all the transplants. Sharkeez and Molloy’s get the most variety of fans, while the New England Patriots fans go to Tower 12, Chicago Bears fans are at Silvio’s and Seattle Seahawk fans turn normally placid Hennessey’s into the Hermosa version of the team’s 12th Man.

• American Junkie Sunday Food & Drink Specials

Menu breakfast available 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Bottomless mimosas ($10) available until Noon.

• Patrick Molloy’s Sunday Food & Drink Specials

One hour free mimosas with purchase of breakfast off the menu, 9 a.m.-noon. From 9-close it’s a Sunday Happy Hour with beers for $3-4 and half-priced mixed drinks with $1, $2 and $3 food specials with live music by Wise 100 Doors.

• Sharkeez Football Sunday Food & Drink Specials

One hour free mimosas with breakfast; served until 11 a.m. Three versions of “Rise & Shine” from $5.25-6.25. Schooners of beers, $5.25-6.50; pitchers $16.50-20, buckets of four $16.40-20; 108-ounce beer towers (Bud Light & Coors Light only), $26; 22-ounce schooner cocktails, $7.50-10; build-your-0wn-Bloody-Mary-bar, $9-15.50; 32-ounce Micheladas, $6.50-7:50.

• Tower 12 Football Sunday Food & Drink Specials

32-ounce draft beers for the price of a pint ($6.50-10); 22-ounce mimosas, $6; 1/2-priced bloody Marys and Micheladas; breakfast biscuit blitz, $6.

Additional Sunday Hermosa Beach Happy Hour

The Mermaid has its standard Happy Hour from 3-5 p.m. It includes a $4 beer of the day, $4.50 house wines and $5.50 for the Drink of the Week (recommended).
