See Istanbul And Spend A Night On The Airline
At a time when some airlines are reducing passenger comforts and amenities, Turkish Airlines is doing just the opposite, at least with one program.
It is offering passengers a free hotel room for layovers of more than 20 hours. Even coach passengers.
Called the “stopover” service, it works like this:
Transfer passengers departing from all nine USA gateways and flying to Africa, Eastern Europe and Balkans, South Europe, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Russia, Iran and Kazakhstan, and who have more than a 20-hour layover, are eligible for the program.
Economy class passengers will receive a one-night stay at a 4-star hotel in Sultanahmet, while those flying in business class get two nights at a 5-star hotel in Taksim. Passengers receive accommodation vouchers from Turkish Airlines’ authorized staff after completing the flight booking process.
“Turkish Airlines’ ‘Stopover’ program aims to create an elevated experience for our passengers, as well as contributing to Turkey’s tourism activities by bringing in-transit passengers from Turkish Airlines into our fascinating hub city, Istanbul,” Ahmet Olmuştur, Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of Turkish Airlines shared. “As a global airline we know the importance of offering comforts both in-flight and on the ground in a destination, which is why we look forward to continuing to bring these enhanced services to our passengers.”
Turkish Airlines’ ‘Stopover’ program joins the airline’s recently introduced Istanbul Bosphorus Experience as another service to encourage passengers to explore Istanbul during a layover.
The Istanbul Bosphorus Experience is available for business class passengers who have a transfer time of seven or more hours and includes a luxurious boat tour of the blue waters of the Bosphorus and exploration of historical landmarks, such as a dining experience at the magnificent Çırağan Palace Kempinski.
