Cheers And Happy New Year From PubClub.com!

It’s the New Year, and at some point at the end of the previous year (usually during New Year’s Eve parties), people make resolutions for how they will improved their lives during the next 12 months.
It could be eating better, exercising more, being more kind to other people or, for those of us in the travel industry, making traveling goals.
Myself, I don’t make resolutions. At least around the New Year. That’s because I make resolutions on a year-round basis. Heck, if I’m talking to someone who has just been to a destination or a festival or event, I’ll make a resolution right then and there that I will go to it at some point in the near future. I don’t build them up for the New Year.
And how often do you really stick to those promises, anyway? As soon as the New Year gets underway, you’re back in your daily routine.
And sometimes things get in the way of obtaining those goals. A job, your financial situation or perhaps something else cool comes up and you go to one destination instead of one who had made a vow to visit “in the New Year.”
I can sit here and tell you where I would like to travel to in 2019 – back to Amsterdam, the Greek Islands , Switzerland and Waikiki Beach, Berlin for the first time, and several other places.
But how many will I actually make it to this year? In the words of Jimmy Buffett, “only time will tell.”
I sure hope I get to all of them and even more places. I want to go to a lot of events, too. I love festivals and big street parties. Food, wine and beer festivals. Heck, since Jimmy Buffett hasn’t been here to LA in a couple of years, I would like to see him again. Or, more accurately, experience a few more of the awesome pre-concert tailgate parties.
So if you’re going to make a resolution, make it a simple one, like “I’ll do whatever I can do this year and travel to everywhere I can travel to during the next 12 months.”
That’s my plan.
Cheers and Happy New Year!
