Top Five Things That Are Sure To Happen In The NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament
March Madness is madness indeed – from the buzzer beaters to the madness or ripping up your once-promising but suddenly worthless bracket in a bar.
But don’t say I did not warn you, for here’s everything you need to know about March Madness 2018.
1.) You Will Never, Ever Win A Pool If You Only Fill Out One Bracket
I don’t like it because I feel like it’s cheating but the people who win the pools fill out multiple brackets. There’s too many unknowns and unpredictable upsets to win with just one bracket. That being said, I only fill out one because how exciting can it be during a nail-biter when you basically have both teams to win? Your call.
2.) Nearly Every Bracket Will Have Duke. And For Good Reason
Great coaching, an unstoppable player and Duke karma. The Blue Devils are the clear favorite to win the title and that’s what nearly every bracket will have – Duke as champions. I often like to look for another team other than the overwhelming favorite but there is none other than Duke this year.
3.) Virginia Is Fool’s Gold
The Cavaliers became the only #1 seed to lose to a #16 seed in the history of the tournament last year and have the same approach to the game this year. That is tremendous defense and a “hold ’em off boys” offense. All it takes to lose in the tournament is one hot team shooing lights-out three pointers. Virginia does not have the offense to counter a hot-shooting March Madness team.
4.) Kansas Will Lose
It must be maddening to be a Kansas fan. The football team sucks and the basketball team chokes every year in March Madness.
5.) The Experts Are Not Experts
Don’t be fooled what you hear from the analysts and so-called experts. They only anticipate what is likely to happen and it’s almost always based on matchups. But March Madness is not about matchups. It’s about and the raw emotions of college athletes. Some teams fold and other rise the the occasion. It’s impossible for anyone to predict and note how the “experts’ stop revealing their picks at, oh, about Sweet 16 time. That’s because they did about as bad as you.
