Stuck At Home: How To Keep Stress Levels Low And Remain Focused

November 5, 2020 by kevinwilkerson 1 Comment

Increasing numbers of people, with the aid of tech, work from home. Working from home isn’t the breeze one might think – it can often be just as stressful as working in an office environment. Here are tips on how you can keep your stress levels low and remain focused.

Create a Daily Schedule

If you have a lot to get through, you can easily get lost and free stressed when you do not have a plan. So, what is the easiest way to avoid this feeling? Simply creating a schedule. Every morning before you get started on your day, take the time to create a to-do list. Note down what you would like to achieve and the tasks you have to complete. This way, you can stay focused on what you have to do and keep your stress levels low.

Take Enjoyable Breaks

If you are currently trying to work from home, there are so many distractions that can break your focus. After all, you view your home as somewhere to relax and have fun. Now, you are having to treat it like your office too. But the way to get around this and make sure that you concentrate and feel good is to work in blocks and take breaks. Working long hours continually does not make you productive. In fact, it can make you more stressed. So, ensure that you take breaks every hour and do things that you enjoy. For instance, if you enjoy cooking or the newest slots, make time for them. You cannot work 24/7.

Try Home Workouts

Everyone knows that getting exercise and working out is good for you. But if you are not able to get out of the house, you may think that you cannot go to the gym or go out for a run. But this is not true. All you have to do is adjust the way that you work out. For example, there are at-home fitness videos and online yoga that you can try. This can help to keep your stress levels low.

Go to Bed Early

If you do not have to get up early for the morning commute to work, you may be tempted to sleep in. This means going to your bed later than normal. But this is a bad habit to get into. Before you know it, you will be missing out on vital hours of sleep that you need to stay energized and to concentrate during the day. So, when you are working from home, make sure that you go to bed early. Get the number of hours you need to feel awake during the day and stay focused.

If you have trouble getting to sleep, try to switch off your devices early so that you are away from the blue lights of technology. You can also wind down at night and read a book to feel relaxed.

You can actually walk around the neighborhood too on a time where not a lot of people are outside and just keep social distancing. Walking outside everyday even for 30 minutes helps me lessen my emotional and psychological stress due to the lockdown.
