The NFL is headed into odd COVID-19 times with training facilities closed for two days, plus teams closing in on the playoffs and the league marching toward the holidays.

Here are my Week 13 bold picks & predictions, with a game-by-game breakdown analysis of the winners and losers.

Game# Visitor Home Your Pick Conf. Pts
1 Cincinnati Bengals Miami Dolphins MIA (home) 10
2 Cleveland Browns Tennessee Titans TEN (home) 11
3 Detroit Lions Chicago Bears CHI (home) 2
4 Indianapolis Colts Houston Texans IND (visitor) 9
5 Jacksonville Jaguars Minnesota Vikings MIN (home) 1
6 Las Vegas Raiders New York Jets LV (visitor) 3
7 New Orleans Saints Atlanta Falcons ATL (home) 5
8 Washington Fb Team Pittsburgh Steelers PIT (home) 7
9 Los Angeles Rams Arizona Cardinals ARZ (home) 4
10 New York Giants Seattle Seahawks SEA (home) 8
11 New England Patriots Los Angeles Chargers LAC (home) 6
12 Philadelphia Eagles Green Bay Packers GB (home) 14
13 Denver Broncos Kansas City Chiefs KC (home) 15
14 Dallas Cowboys Baltimore Ravens BAL (home) 13
15 Buffalo Bills San Francisco 49ers BUF (visitor)

Here is the game-by-game breakdown of these picks.

Cincinnati at Miami. The Bengals didn’t “burrow” under the turf last week and nearly pulled off an upset. They can’t do it two weeks in a row.

Cleveland at Tennessee. A battle of the running backs, Derek Henry of Alabama and Nick Chubb of Cleveland. The Titans have a little more diversity and that will be the difference.

Detroit at Chicago. In what will be the Ugliest Game Of The Week, the Bears D pulls out the W.

Indianapolis at Houston. The Colts have been very surprising this year and after losing last week, will rebound this week.

Jacksonville at Minnesota. This pick is more against Jax than it is in favor of Minn.

Las Vegas at NY Jets. Thought about picking the Jets – after all, surely they can’t lose every game this season – but they just don’t have any offense.

New Orleans at Atlanta. Upset special of the week. The Saints QB situation is going to catch up with them this week. And the defense can’t hold on forever.

Washington at Pittsburg. Man, I was tempted to pick Washington. It’s defensive line – made up primarily of former Alabama studs plus Ohio State’s Chase “The Quarterback” Young – is legit and the Steelers are bond to lose sometimes. But I just couldn’t bring myself to pick Washington.

Los Angeles at Arizona. Every time I think I’m wrong for saying Kliff Kingsbury doesn’t belong being a head coach in the NFL, the Cardinals surprise me. Then they play as if Kinsgbury doesn’t belong in the NFL. The Rams look good some games but horrible in other so it’s hard to know what you will get from week to week.

New York Giants at Seattle. It was tempting to pick the New Yorkers, who are suddenly rising after a horrible start as well as the in-game inconsistencies of the West Coast Birds, but eventually I realized that would be a foolish move.

New England at LA Chargers. Ahh, what to make of both the Patriots and the Chargers. The Pats seem to spring to life just when you think they are done. But having won last week, I just think they will lose this week. Tho with the Chargers, would it be a surprise if it were a one-score loss for the Bolts?

Philadelphia at Green Bay. The Eagles are the worst team in the NFL led by the league’s most stubborn coach. Regardless of what Brian Griese was screaming on Monday Night Football, put in Jalen!

Denver at Kansas City. The Broncos are starting a wide receiver at quarterback for cryin’ out loud. Against the Chiefs!

Dallas at Baltimore. Even with all their COVID-19 problems, protocol-breaking procedures and rescheduling, the Ravens can still bet the Boys.

Buffalo at San Francisco. There is no way the injured 49ers can keep up with the Bills, even if the herd keeps turning over the ball.
