Free Bike Ride Honors San Diego Cycling Legend Gordy Shields
This is the Gordy Shields Memorial Ride between 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. PT. The meeting place is Bikeway Village at 536 13th Street and includes stops at the Pier 32 Marina/Gordy Shields Bridge, Glorieta Park and then at the Coronado Ferry Landing.
Not only is it free to attend but participants can also win prizes. There is also a swag table at the Glorieta Park stop.
San Diego-based health and wellness company, CV Sciences, will be giving away $1,000 worth of free products to riders at the pitstop, and Dr. Douglas McKay, the brand’s SVP of scientific and regulatory affairs, will be onsite discussing ride recovery and overall health and wellness tips.

He passed away in 2013 at the age of 95.
