Lollapalooza Chicago Crowd Estimated At 385,000; Proof Of Vaccination Was Required

People Ready To Party At This Huge Music Festival In Grant Park

Lollapalooza Chicago 2021 took place the end of July and it was estimated 385,000 people attended during the three-day music festival. With the nationwide rise in positive COVID-19 cases this has caused concern among heath officials.

But organizers had a plan: They required festival-goers to show a vaccination card or a negative test.”

This is the statement issued by the Lollapalooza organizers:

“Lollapalooza will be enforcing the health measures we have put in place at the direction of the City of Chicago and Chicago Department of Public Health. We will have staff at the entry gates checking for printed vaccination and negative test documents as fans enter the festival. We would advise our fans to build in extra time to allow for this additional entry requirement. If fans arrive without this documentation, they will be turned away.

Lollapalooza has been working with the City of Chicago continually to encourage vaccinations to ensure that all fans who meet the requirements have a safe and enjoyable weekend.”

So there you go, that’s what’s happening at this huge music festival taking place in Grant Park from July 29-Aug. 1. It features Miley Cirus, the Foo Fighters, Journey and some 50 bands a day.

Lollapalooza has been held annually (minus 2020) since 1991. The music includes alternative rock, heavy metal, punk rock, hip hop and electronic music. Past events have attracted more than 400,000 people.

Tickets were $135/day for General Admission and $375 for all four days. Other (more expensive) options were also available.
