The places listed here include Delray Beach, Deerfield Beach, West Palm Beach and Jupiter. It is a guide to the best bars, beach bars and places to drink along the Intercoastal Waterway.
So grab a drink and let’s go explore South Florida!
Palm Beach/West Palm Beach Bars
Your first drinking spot in West Palm Beach should be E.R. Bradley’s Saloon. With several rooms, a good daytime scene, a good Happy Hour and live music at night, it also might be your last. It’s not clubby at all, but sophisticated beach with the attire to match.
If you are able to pull yourself out of there, then check out Clematis Street just around the corner. It’s a haven for all types of bars from lounges that specalize in fine martinis (which the girls love, hint hint to the guys) to well-dressed people in a small but classy nightlife scne.m separates the two. The velvet rope treatment can apply here, especially to newbies.
Intracoastal Waterway Bars In South Florida
South Florida has awesome bars on the intracoastal waterways. Not only are the fun places, some with live music, but boats tie up to the docks in a scene that has to be experienced, for it’s largely a “Florida thing.”.
Waterway Cafe in Palm Beach Gardens is an open-air restaurant in a tropical environment. Be sure and order the Rum Rummer.
The Banana Boat in Boynton Beach is another top spot for boaters.
Why wait to Sunday to enjoy a waterfront bar? Tis seems to be the attitude when it comes to The Cove Restaurant and Marina in Deerfield Beach doesn’t have dock but it does have a well-heeled crowd; this is a classy – but not tooo classy – bar by the beach.
JB’s on the Beach has no dock but this open-air restaurant it is right on the beach.
Also check out Sailfish Marina in Palm Beach Shores, which has long fishing docks and restaurants, tho note that it also has families and that means kids.
The Square Grouper in Jupiter is where Jimmy Buffett and Alan Jackson recorded “It’s 5 O’clock Somewhere.”
Finally, there is the Quarterdeck for sports, food and beer.
