You cannot walk out the door in Diego these days without seeing someone wearing a brown and yellow shirt with SD on it and hearing people say, “Go Padres!,” to nearly every person they pass on the sidewalk.
The long-starving Padres fans had their wildest dream come true on Saturday night when the team beat L.A. The Padres advanced to the National League Championship Series (NLCS) against the Philadelphia Phillies. But no matter what happens, the team and fans always have the Dodgers series win to celebrate.
And celebrate they did on Saturday night, spilling out into the streets with honking horns in cars, flooding blocked-off Fifth Ave., in the Gaslamp and going crazy in the bars.

L.A. Fans, Media Reaction To Dodgers Loss
The scene was quite different for Dodgers fans. Take a look at what fans of both teams are saying after the series. We start with Bill Plaschke, longtime LA Times Sports Columnist. He called it the worst loss in Dodgers history.
“This is worse than being overrun by the Chicago Cub he wrote. “This is worse than Howie Kendrick’s grand slam for the Washington Nationals. This is worse than the front office’s pitching mismanagement against the Atlanta Braves.
“This is even worse than being cheated by the Houston Astros in 2017 and being whipped by the Boston Red Sox in 2018 because, well, at least both of those defeats were in the World Series. In each of those years, at least they won two playoff rounds.”
