What Are the Types of Ladder-based VIP Programs in Casinos?

October 31, 2022 by kevinwilkerson Leave a Comment

An online casino like https://vulkan-bt.com/ typically offers a loyalty program. Some call it a VIP program, where players who spend money get rewarded for their loyalty as customers. There are several ways by which a casino runs its loyalty program, and we will take a look at the most popular ones.

Wager-Based Tier System

The first type of loyalty ladder is based on the amount of money you wagered. You can only climb the VIP ladder after you wagered a certain amount of money.

A good example of this is the loyalty program of Lupin Casino. Below are the tiers and requirements:

  • Apprentice – sign up for an account. At this tier, you will receive 1 comp point for every $10 wagered on slot machines and 1 for every $50 wagered in non-slot games.
  • Pickpocket – wager $10,000 to reach this tier and enjoy 1 comp point for every $9 wagered on slot machines. You will also get 1 comp point for every $45 spent on other games.
  • Safe Cracker – you must wager a total of $42,000 to reach this level; you now receive 1 comp point for every $8 wagered on slots and 1 or every $40 wagered on other games.
  • Cat Burglar – you must wager a total of $77,000 to get to this tier. The benefit is you get 1 comp point for every $7 wagered in slots and 1 for every $35 wagered in non-slots.
  • Arsene’s VIP – you can only get to this tier by invitation. You will receive 1 comp point for every $5 wagered on slots and 1 for every $25 wagered on non-slots.

In this example, you can swap every 100 com points to $1 and then use that money to wager — you can withdraw that money if you want.

Bet-Based Tier System

The other type of ladder system in loyalty programs is based on bets only. The difference between this and the previous one is that this does not require a certain amount of money to rank up on the tier.

A good example is what Jackpot City Casino offers. Upon joining the online casino, you automatically get rewarded with points as you bet on any game. Some games have higher points than others, and you can swap these points for casino credits.

In this loyalty program, all players will start at the Bronze level and receive 2500 loyalty points. The tiers are as follows:

  • Bronze
  • Silver
  • Gold
  • Platinum
  • Diamond
  • Privé

Here are the mechanics:

  • You can earn points for the money you wager
  • You can exchange the points but only in pre-determined increments
  • Instead of cash, you will receive bonus credits in your account for the points you swapped
  • The bonus you receive will be credited to your bonus balance
  • You can use the bonus to play subject to bonus terms and conditions.

Are Loyalty Programs worth It?

Yes, they are worth it. As a player, you know that each wager is a risk. At best, you must get some value for wagers that you lost. Even if the point system or rewards will not make you a winner, they give you more value for your money.

In addition to the point system, members of a VIP club, especially those who belong to the top tiers, can enjoy a lot of benefits.

Benefits of Being a VIP

Participation in Exclusive Events

Some casinos launch a special event, and they only invite VIP players. For example, they may host a slot tournament, and only VIPs are included. Those who are not part of the loyalty program cannot participate.

Personal Account Manager

As a VIP on a high tier, you are obviously a spender, and the casino wants to keep you as a client. To do that, the casino will assign a personal manager to you.

Being the personal manager does not mean you will speak to one person only for your concerns. What it typically means is that you have access to 24/7 support, and on high priority at that.

Personalized Gifts

VIP clients are likely to receive birthday gifts. The most common gifts are free spins on certain slot machines. Some casinos offer free cash. For high-tier members, the casino may send physical items to your house, like mugs, umbrellas, pens, etc.

Fast Payouts

Casinos typically take three to five business days to process your withdrawals. In addition to that, there are severe limitations to the amount of money you can withdraw.

As a VIP, the casino can remove this limitation. They can expedite the processing of your withdrawal as much as three times faster. They can also increase the limit of money you can withdraw. The same thing goes for the maximum amount of money you can deposit.

Lastly, VIPs often get special promotions like regular cashback returns. Many casinos offer at least 5% cash back on the net loss of the VIP player of the previous week.
