Olivia Dunne, TikTok/Instagram star, multi- millionaire influencer (a reported $2+ million a year income for a college student) and part-time gymnast for LSU, is now also a super model.
Dunne appears in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue and, well wow. Guys, if you’re standing near a wall then move because when you scroll down see some of the photos and the video you’ll likely run into it. And don’t even think about looking at them on your phone while crossing the street.
She models several swimsuits, the sexiest of which has backpack-style shoulder straps with cutouts in the top that reveals cleavage that one would not normally expect to see on a gymnast. Yes, Dunne stuns in her SI swimsuit debut.
“The way that the [SI Swimsuit] brand has evolved and has become such a positive spotlight for women to tell their stories and to spread awesome messages of being strong, sexy and beautiful, I knew that was something I wanted to be part of,” she said. And added, “that’s something that’s really important, that a brand makes you feel comfortable, confident, and that you feel like you’re the best version of yourself.
“And that’s definitely what SI [Swimsuit] made me feel like. I felt like a better person leaving that shoot.”
SI Swimsuit editor in chief MJ Day said, “we are here to celebrate this incredible young woman and encourage the world to respect and applaud Livvy and her fellow athletes for owning the blood, sweat and tears that have fueled a lifetime of achievements.”
Yet she does all this with a girl-next-door perspective, as evidenced by her quotes. She calls the photo shoot in Puerto Rico as a “dream come true.” She also said the experience was “everything and more than I expected.”
She also is somewhat defensive about the backlash she has received from some who claim she’s using her good looks to make a living. Well DUH people!
“People need to understand that I work for everything I earn,” she said in SI. “I’ve spent years building an audience of over 11 million followers between Instagram and TikTok, and brands pay for the reach that my accounts get and the demographic that it caters to” and she is right.
After all, as pointed out earlier in this publication, Dunne is hardly the first attractive female athlete to make money off her good looks. And she certainly won’t be the last. In fact, riding her coattails are a pair of pretty blond former University of Miami twins, Haley and Hanna Cavinder – known in the social media world as the Cavinder Twins – has signed a deal with the WWE and have other lucrative sponsorship deals in the works. They left Miami to pursue this new career.
So just admire the beauty. The 2023 SI Swimsuit issue is due out in May.
