Great Food & Drink At Lover’s Point In Monterey Bay

The food – such as the conversation-stopping duck breasts – is equal to the view at Beach Hous

There are a lot of great restaurants in Monterey Bay. You can find them in Cannery Row, clingling like coral on Fisherman’s Wharf, all over Carmel and tucked into cute neighborhoods in Pacific Grove in the manner of San Francisco.

Some have great food and some have fantastic views. A few have both, and one of the best at combining the two is The Beach House Restaurant at Lover’s Point in Pacific Grove.

In fact, it’s hard to beat for pairing the two together in one location.

That’s why we present these Top 10 reasons to dine at the Beach House in Pacific Grove

10 Rreasons Why The Beach House Pacific Grove Is A Top Monterey Bay Restaurant

1.) The View

Talk about dining with a view; it doesn’t get any better than this in all of Monterey County.

Chef Briana Sammut reaches the summit with her creative and mind-blowing dishes, like the steak tartar.

Big windows at the Beach House provide full views of Monterey BAy.

The Beach House is in the premium location on the entire Monterey Peninsula. It’s at Lover’s Point in Pacific Grove and its many windows look out onto a view of the waves rolling into the rocks by the shore.

2.) The View Keeps On Giving. And Giving

The view here will have you so mesmerized you’ll be startled when the waiter or waitress comes up to take your order. It’s that fantastic. And that’s only the beginning; things get even better when the food arrives!

3.) Great Wines With The View

A glass of Monterey County chardonnay is the perfect pairing for this view from Beach House.

The Beach House features outstanding wine from Monterey County and also squeezes down to Paso Robles for its reds. Paired with the scenic landscape, you will realize there’s not a better place to be than right here and right now.

4.) The Location

Lover’s Point is a lover’s paradise! It has a cove for suntanning on a beach, a lagoon for swimming (tho note that the water temperature here rarely reaches 60 degrees), and huge boulders on the shore and out onto the sea. There’s a lot of people around on a sunny afternoon and then you can go up for dinner and drinks. The Beach House is the only place to have drinks here, by the way.

5.) The Food Is Equal To The View

The steak tar-tar is one of the many outstanding dishes at The Beach House.

If ever there were a restaurant where the food is as mind-blowing as the location, it’s Beach House. From the “okay, I can stop right here, this is awesome enough” Firecracker Shrimp to the pan-seared scallops to the “okay, I’m now TOTALLY satisfied” Maple Farms Duck Breasts, the food will blow you away almost as much as the view. And that’s saying a lot. Chef Briana Sammut really reaches the summit with her dishes.

6.) The Simple, “Back To The View” Menu

It’s simple, uncomplicated and only has a dozen or so items. Let’s fact it, when you’re at such an incredible location you don’t want to spent a ton of time staring at the menu trying to figure out what to order. Here, there’s the appetizers, a couple of salads and a few meat, chicken and fish selections. Done. Now get back to the view. And your wine.

6.) The Food Service Crew

Restaurants are like race cars at Laguna Seca. You can have a fast car but it won’t go anywhere without a quality driver and a good crew. Beach House has not just a quality driver in chef Brianna Sammut – the food equivalent of NASCAR multi-champion Jimmy Johnson – but the crew in the servers who explain and present her exquisite dishes.

7.) It Has A Bar!

Hello! You don’t have t o come here to eat; you can go the bar and have drinks. Which is what many Pacific Grove locals do, in fact. Smart folks, those PG locals.

8.) The Appetizer Menu Is More Than Appetizing

You don’t have to order off the full menu to experience the mind-blowing food here. Sit at the bar (see #7!) and order off the appetizer menu. That’s where you’ll find the Firecracker Shrimp ($9), the Steak TarTar ($12) and Pan Seared Scallops ($18).

9.) The Other Patrons

You know you’re in a great place when you start comparing notes with other patrons. At Beach House, you will find yourself suddenly leaning into other tables’ conversations about what they are having, how great it is and that “oh you HAVE to tried this” talk. Soon enough you’ll be scooting chairs together and having a party with new best friends.

10.) The Mai Tai Drink

You don’t have go to all the way to Hawaii to have a great Mai Tai. You can have a really potent one here – and believe us, PubClub.com knows a lot about potent Mai Tais! – one that has two rums topped with a Meyers floater. This may get you in the mood to make a follow-up rum drink spot at Lulu’s Tiki Bar in Monterey. That is, if you can pull yourself away from The Beach House. Call a cab!
