Five-Course Dinner Features Top Menu Items With Chicago’s Quality Beers

Craft beer and good food – along with a good bit of rock ‘n roll – is the mantra of the popular Rock & Brews in Redondo Beach, CA.

The mostly-beer bar and restaurant has had locals lining up for dinner since its opening at the end of June.

And now, it’s pairing with Chicago-based craft brewery Goose Island for a one-night only, pre-fixe dinner on Tuesday, Sept. 24. It starts at 6:30 p.m.

The dinner features a five-course pre-fixe menu with each dish paired with a sampling of Goose Island’s quality beers.

The menu and beer parings are as follows:
• Strawberry Fields salad with choice of Goose Island Classic 312 Urban Wheat or Goose Island Vintage Sofie Paradisi.
• Asian Wings with choice of Goose Island Classic Harvest Ale or Goose Island Vintage Matilda
• Bleu Cheese Bacon Burger with choice of Goose Island Classic India Pale Ale or Goose Island Vintage Pere Jacques
• Pulled Pork Pizza with Honkers Ale
• Purple Rain Drops with a “special surprise” pairing

The dinner is $45 per person for a Classic package and $55 for a Vintage package, excluding tax and gratuity.

 

I’ve had a lot of the Goose Island beers and especially enjoy the Honkers Ale and IPA. I’m more of a lager lover but these darker selections are smooth like lighter beers without compromising any of the more robust taste of darker beers. You may recognize Goose Island beers from a few South Bay bars – Honker’s Ale is on tap at American Junkie, among other places – and from the Fiesta Hermosa beer garden.

And I’ve also had most of the menu selections of Rock & Brews in Redondo Beach, and can say the Strawberry Fields salad is a great starter, the pizza is excellent and the beef on the burgers is of high quality. So this is a pairing of powerhouses.

Added to the event is the atmosphere of the indoor/outdoor patio and classic rock music and videos.
