New Restaurant/Bar Expands Hours And Features Creative Margaritas On A Patio

Margaritas on a deck?
Sounds like the life.
And now you can start it earlier in the day.
El Corazon de Costa Mesa, one of the new restaurant/bars going into the suddenly happening “Triangle” of Orange County, CA, is now open for lunch and weekend brunch.
El Corazon’s signature dishes are priced from $5 to $19 and include Spicy Tuna Tacos ($10.75) served sashimi style on a thin slice of jicama and topped with a tropical slaw of green mango, papaya and chayote then dusted with sesame and crushed pepitas.
The Yellowtail in Agua Chile ($10.75) features raw Baja yellowtail marinated in aguachile, a blend of lime juice and Serrano chiles, then tossed with red onion, mango and cucumber and garnished with avocado and olive oil.
Margaritas are made with bananas and mint, berries and basil and spiked melon with a blend of watermelon and honeydew. You can even create your own margarita, starting at $8.50, by selecting the tequila and combining it with fruits such as strawberry, blueberry, mango and blackberries. And while you’re at it, add in mint, basil, rosemary, sage, tarragon or cilantro.
There are also a several of martinis and mojitos.
El Corazon is a casual, come-as-you-are restaurant and has a spacious outdoor patio where rattan chairs are around individual fire pits. A double-sided fireplace warms both the patio and the indoor dining room. Not that you’ll ever need a fireplace for lunch or brunch in Southern California, but it’s nice to know it’s there, of course.
El Corazon de Costa Mesa is open for lunch Monday through Friday from 11 a.m., with brunch served Saturday and Sunday beginning at 10 am.
The restaurant is open until 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights and until 11 Sundays-Thursdays
It is located atop The Triangle next door to the movie theater at 1870 Harbor Boulevard in Costa Mesa. For information or reservations, call 949.612.2349
