Location For Show Was Not in Waikiki But Along The Water in Hawaii Kai
The location for the TV show Deadliest Catch recap show, called After The Catch V, is in Honolulu. And if you want go to there, here’s the place. It’s The Shack.
This is not to be confused with The Shack in Waikiki Beach (2255 Kuhio Ave.).
This one is in the Hawaii Kai shopping center well past Diamond Head, off Highway 72, or Kalanianaole Hwy.
It’s kind of dark inside, as shown on the show, but step out onto the lanai (patio) and enjoy a gorgeous view over the water.
The cast and crew were there from June 4-8, 2011.
The Shack is an appropriately-named place. It is most famous for its burgers (PubClub.com prefers the swiss & mushroom, $7.75, and add the onion rings, $6.25 for a basket) with locations in Hawaii and a couple in L.A. The one in Playa del Rey serves the “Shack Burger,” topped with Portuguese sausage; on Tuesdays all burgers are $1 off and they call this the “Shack Attack,” long before Shaq arrived in town.
The Shack where the Deadliest Catch’s After the Catch was filmed is a good spot to go for those on a drive around Oahu for lunch or early evenings. For those who want to party, the one in Waikiki is one of the most happening bars in town on Thursday nights. That’s because it has $2 beers! Locals pour into the place from 11 p.m.-4 a.m.
Deadliest Catch Shack Location: 377 Keahole St. (808) 396-1919. Website.
