Desperate Housewives Star’s CityCenter Club Shuts Doors (Temporarily?) While Beso Steakhouse Remains Open
Not everything that happens in Vegas really, well, happens.
Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria opened a nightclub and restaurant in the “crystals” CityCenter complex and initially attracted an A-list of celebrities that included Victoria and David Beckham, Holly Madison, Prince, the Black Eyed Peas and Justin Timberlake.
But the club, called Eve Club, has shut its doors to save the parent company money, at least temporarily. The plan is to renovate it, then re-open with the hope of making it profitable.
The adjacent restaurant remains open and is doing quite well. BESO Steakhouse is a steak and seafood restaurant.
BesoLLC filed for Chapter 11 protection in January though the club stayed open until July. Longoria is a one-third owner of the business.
It’s been a rough time for a few Las Vegas establishments. Two highly regarded restaurants – Rosemary’s and Nora’s Wine Bar & Osteria, recently closed. Rosemary’s had been open since 1999 and was started by two of Emeril Lagasse’s former chefs and was very popular among the city’s culinary kings and queens.
But the city is still thriving, as anyone who hits a bar or club in town can verify.
