Royal Jelly Burlesque Bar One Of Two New Nightspots to Open at Revel Beach in the Spring

Burlesque is coming to Atlantic City’s nightlife.
And it’s being brought there by Ivan Kane, whose highly successful Forty Deuce clubs in Los Angeles and Las Vegas have brought this type of entertainment back into the limelight.
Called Ivan Kane’s Royal Jelly Burlesque Club, it will open at Revel, a new beach resort set to have a soft opening in April. It will be going full blast by Memorial Day weekend. Royal Jelly will open this spring, with no exact date yet announced. The property will also have a second nightclub, a beach club and a casino.
Burlesque features attractive girls in somewhat skimpy outfits doing dances to retro songs on a stage in a production that’s lively, fun and largely unique to nightclubs. It’s not hip-hop and it’s not dance music like a band or DJ provides, but sophisticated sit-down entertainment that, when done well, is a production similar to a Broadway show.
“The burlesque acts are extremely technical and highly produced with the best classically trained dancers and musicians from Hollywood, Las Vegas and New York.” Kane said. “Royal Jelly was designed to be exciting around every corner.” “Flying catwalks drop from the sky and animate the entire space.”
Kane’s shows involve a three-piece jazz combo and a live band back a troupe of five to 15 dancers. Dancing begins at 10 p.m. with burlesque shows throughout the night. By 2 in the morning, the tempo shifts to afterhours rock ‘n roll burlesque.
