The Big Easy Goes Big With Major Partying Events

The prime party place in the world right now is New Orleans.
That could be said pretty much anytime, but it REALLY applies now.
As this blog is being written, thousands of Jimmy Buffett fans are in the Big Easy for a crazy event called Pardi Gras. Days of parades, parties, music and fun is what Pardi Gras represents. As they say, before there’s Mardi Gras, there’s Pardi Gras!
For some cities, this would require a breather, a time to exhale and say, “well that was good. But thank goodness it’s over so we can regroup.”
But not New Orleans! Here, it’s “bring on the next party!”
And that next party is a HUGE one. Super Bowl XLVII! Here’s the event’s official site: www.neworleanssuperbowl.com.
For most places, those back-to-back events would be enough to faint. Pull the mosquito net over the bed.
But not New Orleans. Here, it’s “bring on the next party. Again!”
Because it’s also Mardi Gras!!!
New Orleans is behind Rio, Brazil, as the Top Party Place for Carnival. There are weeks of parades – which start between Pardi Gras and the Super Bowl – that peaks with Fat Tuesday. Bourbon Street is so crowded you have to squeeze to get onto it, and forget about getting onto a balcony. (Party Tip: Go to Mardi Gras the week before Fat Tuesday!).
And even then, New Orleans is not done. Two months later there’s Quarterfest followed by JazzFest.
In short, the party in New Orleans never ends. And that’s the way it always is in the Big Easy.

Cheers!
