One Whacko May Cost Los Angeles Chicago Group
Someone put up a video at Silvio’s which contained an anti-LA Kings message.
It was from a regular, a disgruntled Chicago Blackhawks fan. Talk about a sore loser!
Silvio’s is a fun, casual Brazilian restaurant – a great place for the World Cup by the way! – in Hermosa Beach, CA, that serves as the home bar for Los Angeles Chicagoans Yet this little trick might cost them their South Bay viewing place, as well as hurting any Chicago group wanting to watch their teams in Los Angeles.
It’s also a shock to the dozens of Chicago fans who go to Silvio’s for not just Blackhawks but also Bears games. Embarrassing, too, based how my phone lit up once TMZ chased after it like a loose puck.
One of the great things about sports in L.A., is that there are so many transplants from other cities who watch their teams at specific bars. There are bars for fans from Chicago, Phily, Pittsburgh, New York, Seattle etc. But you can’t account for everyone, and that was apparently the case at Silvio’s.
I’ve been to Silvio’s many times to watch not just the Blackhawks games but also the Bears. I know the Ciago people and have always found them to be very friendly. I’m not from Chicago but they welcome me as if I were a native
So don’t worry about this one isolated incident. Don’t hold it against Silvio’s or Chicago fans. It’s one whacko, Chicago’s version of Harvey Updyke, the over-obsessed Alabama fan (NOT an alumni, this Bama alumni would like to point out) who poisoned the trees at Auburn’s Toomer’s Corner.
You just can’t account for some fools.
