WHAT: The celebration of a big Mexican victory (not Mexican Independence Day) or really, an excuse for gringos to party Mexican-style, wearing sombreros, panchos and fake moustaches while drinking lots of cervezas and margaritas. This is treated like a drinking holiday in Arizona and Southern California.
PARTY SCENE: Excellent. The biggest party scene is at Mexican-themed bars and restaurants.
SINGLES SCENE: Very good. Especially after you and others have a few cervezas and margaritas in a Mexican-themed bar or restaurant.
