Indy 500 2017 Race Date Memorial Day Weekend

WHAT: The 100th running of the Indianapolis 500, an American Memorial Day Weekend tradition. The defending champion is Juan Pablo Montoya. Green flag is at 12:20 p.m.

INFIELD SCENE: Called the Snakepit, it features electronic music DJ Skrillex plus Martin Garrix and popular acts Zed’s Dead and DJ Mustard. There’s also a water slide and 100,000 people who are vaguely aware a car race is taking place around them.

PARTY SCENE: Excellent. While some prefer the grandstands, the infield is where to find the real party scene.

SINGLES SCENE: Outstanding, especially in the infield. This is where most of the single people go to party for the Indy 500.
