The Best Things About Traveling Down Under
Before you ever get to Australia, you already know about it’s weather, beaches and great and friendly people.
And since that’s a given, we’ll skip over that for now and get to some other aspects that are very pleasing about traveling Down Under. This is PubClub.com’s list of 5 Things To Really, Really Like About Australia. We hope you really like it!
1.) Australia Is Very Clean
No matter where you go in Australia, what you don’t see is almost as impressive as what you do see. And that is trash. There is none. The place is spotless.
You get the feeling that if someone throws down a cigarette butt or wrapper, a worker will be along right behind them to sweep it up off the sidewalk. There’s no trash anywhere, not even in Sydney Harbor.
This cleanliness is everywhere, on the streets, in the parks and along the beaches. The roads and walkways look as if they were just paved minutes before you arrived. It really puts the traveler in a great frame of mind about a place where it’s so pristine.
2.) Australia Is Very Casual
Everything about the lifestyle in Australia is casual – the people, their mentality, the pace of things. Australia is like one big outdoor “barbie” at the beach. Who couldn’t love it, and it fits perfectly into reason #3.
3.) Australians Have A Positive, Can-Do Attitude
They really do say “no worries, mate” in Australia. And they mean it!
Need someone in Australia to do a favor for you, even a stranger? “No worries, mate!”
Spill your beer and step on someone’s toe in a crowded bar? “No worries mate!”
Another expression they use is “shouldn’t be a problem” which means don’t panic, eveything will be fine. As in you need to catch a cab and get to the airport FAST because you had one too many beers at the lively Opera Bar in Sydney and are about to miss your flight. “Shouldn’t be a problem, mate!”
4.) Australia’s Diversity Is In Easy Reach
Australia is cities, beaches, mountains, desert, the bush and outback. It’s a huge country and you can’t see it all in a single trip. But you can see a lot of it by being in just a few places. In Sydney, for instance, you can be at the beach, climbing cliffs moments later and be back in the city having drinks at night. And you should definitely check out popular Australia tours to get a better idea just how many amazing things you can see and do Down Under
5.) Australia’s Beautiful ScenicWalking Paths
Australia has some amazing walking paths. Up Watson’s Bay to majestic cliffs that brings to mind the coast of Ireland, around a gorgeous cove at Manly Beach, up and around Byron Bay to the lighthouse, through the Botanical Gardens of Sydney behind the Opera House and, perhaps the most surprising of all to PubClub during our visit, a cliff on one side of Bondi Beach that’s as stunning as La Jolla in San Diego. And that’s saying something.
The paths are all smooth, perfectly clean (of course), safe – even peering over a cliff you never feel as if you are going to fall over the side – and are a pleasure to walk. Plus, the people you encounter along the path are friendly and the scenery is outstanding.
BONUS POINT: One of the things to really, really like about Australia is, well just being in Australia. No matter where you live, it’s a long way from home and it’s just plain cool to be Down Under.
