More Than 1,000 People Turn Out For Celebration

If ever a place needed to cut loose and celebrate something, it was this place.
On March 24, 2018 Foxy’s Bar in the British Virgin Islands did just that – it celebrated its 50th anniversary.
“We knew we needed to host a party,” said Susan Zaluski of Foxy’s Bar and the Jost Van Dykes Preservation Society. “We weren’t sure how it would go and so we were amazed at the turnout. We had more than 1,000 people at Foxy’s.”
Yes, Foxy’s has been in the BVIs for 50 years, serving up its potent rum drinks right off the beach, making it among the most legendary of the legendary bars of the islands.
After Hurricane Irma ripped through the Virgin Islands in September, every place and person was affected by the devastation. While Foxy’s never actually closed it sustained damage but more than that, shortages of supplies and tourists left a mark that will take time to recover.
So why not throw a party? Especially to celebrate a milestone like a 50th anniversary. With drinks, food, music a big crowd (and good weather), it was a great time at Great Harbour.
