One of the coolest things about going to the Olympics is the opportunity to meet people from around the world.
And when you’re PubClub.com, that means partying with them!
In a city as big and diverse as Paris, it can be a bit of a challenge to know exactly where to go but this is a guide to help you find the best areas of Paris for nightlife and some of its best bars. And it’s round-the-clock partying because Paris bars and cafes are open 24 hours a day during the Olympics.
Olympics Nightlife Around The Eiffel Tower
A good place to start is Spot 24 right by the Eiffel Tower. It’s a visitor information center with a cafe. You can also go along the Siene River where you can meet other fans and even locals with a bottle of wine or a beer in your hand, tho access will be limited. The Eiffel Tower remains open during the Olympics with proof of advance registration.
Harry’s New York Bar
Harry’s is one of the most famous bars in the world. It created the Bloody Mary, the SideCar, Blue Lagoon and a few other cocktails. Today, it serves up those drinks plus many others in an old-style, wooden setting with all pennants from colleges all over America. Downstairs is a piano bar whee George Gershwin composed his “American in Paris.”
Harry’s (use the Opera Metro station; it’s less than a 5-minute walk away from the Opera house down a small side street, 5 Rue Daunou) is not a wild party place. But it’s a traditional bar in Paris with an international flavor during the Games.
Nightlife In The Latin Quarter
This area fairly near the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame has long been known as one of the best party places in Paris. It is a series of small bars in a compact area that is bustling during the Games. As far as specific bars, well, just pick a lively one with the shortest line.
Nightlife In The Bastille
This is another main area of Paris nightife. It has one narrow street that is bar after bar after bar. Including one called PubClub!
The 9th Arrondissement Paris Nightlife
This may actually be the best party place during the Olympics. Just two Metro stops (toward Bastille) from the Opera station, it is off the beaten path but still lively.
There are all kinds of bars there, including an Australian bar and two Irish pubs – Corcoran’s and O’Sullivans– that turn into big-time clubs at night. Le Mari 7 is another rockin’ bar. PubClub’s pick in this area is the American Bar. And not because I’m an American; I just liked the looser vibe in there better than the other two places. Plus, the bartender sets the bar on fire if a group orders a certain shot (I kept missing getting a photo or video of it during my pre-Olympics Paris visit, tho, darn it).
Daleville is a cafe popular among locals that brews its own beer.
Many locals don’t want to be in Paris for the Games, tho I tried to convince them otherwise because the Olympics are incredible experience for people.
