Mexican Cantina Features Laker Girls, Live Music And Most Lively Crowd In The Beach Cities

Cinco de Mayo is fun at Pancho’s in Manhattan Beach.

The question locals ask is not if we will go to Pancho’s for Cinco de Mayo but when we will go to Pancho’s for Cinco de Mayo.

And with the Laker Girls there from noon-2, I would say sometime between noon and 2!

The only problem with that is you may never leave, and the rock ‘n roll cover band Day of Daze doesn’t take the stage until 9:30 p.m.

In between the Mexican-themed bar will be elbow-to-elbow crowded in its intimate cantina. People will be wearing sombreros, drinking margaritas and cervezas and whooping it up for this great gringo celebration.

A mariachi band serenades people from the sidewalk before even entering Pancho’s.

Always popular, Pancho’s is packed on Cinco de Mayo.

Pancho’s, located in El Porto at Rosecrans and Highland in LA’s Manhattan Beach, is THE prime party place for Cinco de Mayo. The bar is not big, but it sure is lively. It’s really the only true Mexican cantina in the South Bay, which makes it such a Cinco destination. Yes, there’s Sharkeez across the street and also in Hermosa Beach, but people party there all the time anyway.

People party at Pancho’s all during the year, too, but for Cinco de Mayo they all converge there at the same time.

So I suggest getting there before 5;. Any later and you may find it hard to not just get into the place, but near it.

Plus, if you go in the afternoon, in addition to the Laker Girls you’ll be serenaded by a mariachi band on the sidewalk

Salud!
