Redondo Beach Pier Gets The Slip Bar & King Harbor Beer Tasting Room

South Bay Pubs Add To Local Bar Scene

The Slip Redondo Beach Bars
The Slip Bar & Eatery is a new addition to the Redondo Beach Pier.

The Redondo Beach Pier has two new places to drink, The Slip Bar & Eatery and the King Harbor Brewing Co., craft brewing tasting room. And two more places are on the way.

Could the pier actually become a true South Bay nightlife destination?

The Slip and King Harbor Brewing are in small places along the lower level between Naja’s and Quality Seafood. Like Naja’s, they are mostly places for a few beers on sunny afternoons, and not true “whoop it up” bars at night.

The Slip is a bar/restaurant in much the same style as its predecessor, Kegs. It features several beers and food (PubClub.com has not been there and will later post a full review. We do know the owners).

King Harbor Tasting Room Redondo Beach Bars
King Harbor has opened up its walls to bring in some of the Redondo Beach sunshine.

King Harbor is a tasting room for its craft beers, which are brewed in Torrance. It features two of its regular beers, plus up to eight special and seasonal brews in a setting that’s as open-air as possible in this location; garage doors slide up to bring in some of the Redondo Beach sunshine.

It’s also about a one-minute walk from Naja’s, which has 77 beers on tap, so this part of the pier could be something of a “beer drinkers row.”

So here’s your Redondo Beach bar destinations: Naja’s, The Slip, King Harbor Brewing & Barney’s Beanery for the daytime, Kincaid’s for Happy Hour (3-6, and also 9-close) Old Tony’s and its legendary Fire Chief drink for sunset and slightly beyond and Starboard Attitude for great live music in a small bar at night.

Coming soon is The Boogie and Kamakura.
