Sunshine Returns To The South Bay Just In Time For St. Paddy’s Day

The Irish eyes are smilin’ on the South Bay, for after all the rain we’ve had this winter, the forecast calls sunshine and warm weather during the annual Hermosa Beach St. Patrick’s Day parade.
This annual event, which takes place on Saturday, March 16, will be about the first time this entire year the weather breaks 70 degrees. That’s the predicted high for the day. There will also be sunshine all day, ending only at sunset.
Just be sure to bring a green sweatshirt or jacket if you happen to be staying out past that sunset, for the low will drop to 53. And, of course, even if you don’t intend to be out past sunset, chances are you will be, so be sure and have that extra layer on you.
The Hermosa Beach parade starts at 11 a.m., and goes until 1 p.m. This is right in the middle of when the rains were initially predicted for the day. The parade goes from Valley/Ardmore down Pier Ave., then turns left onto Hermosa Ave., ending in front of Barnacles.
Some 10,000 people turn out for the parade and once the strollers depart, then the fun and single people of the South Bay stay and hang out at the bars along Pier Plaza. Be sure and look for PubClub.com at Tower 12!
There is also the annual block party on 6th and Cypress, and promoter Berry Bly is having a St. Paddy’s-themed party at Ocean Bar starting at 1 p.m.
It’s going to be a great day, night, parade and party in Hermosa Beach on Saturday. The weather will pretty much be the same on Sunday – just a few degrees cooler – and that’s the actual St. Patrick’s Day.
Erin Go Bragh!
