Live Music, A Beer Garden, USC & UCLA Kickoffs & A Club Crawl

It’s Labor Day Weekend and while it’s kind of a bummer that it signals the end of summer, you might as well go out by going all out, right!? Here’s where to go and where to be so you can have an end-of-summertime blast in L.A.
Fiesta Hermosa 2018

A three-day street festival in this lively beach city features two stages of bands, the usual arts and crafts booths, a beer garden and about 10,000 fun people of the South Bay. It goes all day on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. As a bonus, it’s college football opening weekend and if you want to start early on Saturday with breakfast and an hour of bottomless mimosas, American Junkie is the Ohio State bar (kickoff, 9 a.m.). Parking sucks so take Lyft or Uber (plus, I know you’ll be drinking anyway).

Beach Boys At LA Fleet Week 2018

Fleet Week presented by Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan on Amazon Prime Video is a salute to the nation’s “sea services” at the Port of Los Angeles in San Pedro. It features flyovers, a walk/run over the Vincent Thomas Bridge, the 100 Years of Navy in Hollywood Film Festival and to really make it “Fun, Fun, Fun” the Beach Boys Military Appreciation Concert presented by Annenberg Foundation on Saturday. This is a series of bands leading up to Southern California’s iconic lifestyle musicians, followed by a laser show. It takes place from 5-10 p.m., at the Bob Hope USO Delta Air Lines stage. You do need to have a free ticket in advance and while those have been distributed, it never hurts to poke around while you’re on site. Plus, there’s other bands performing on Saturday and Sunday.
Fleet Week, by the way, is free.
Fleet Week starts Aug. 31 and runs thru Labor Day.
